This song was written about the same person who Michael Nesmith wrote Magnolia Simms for, Nurit Wilde (whom Nesmith had an affair and fathered a child with). It's a crazy story, but you can hear her talk about it herself on the Monkees Pad episodes (8 and 9 I think).
